Although you may not see Clint out and about in the local late night music scene, trust me, he is busier than ever! Darby got his start playing in high school bands, eventually forming the mandatory garage bands every musician needs to have out of school (Rhythm Oil, for locals who remember) and ultimately ended up joining The Second Coming Band, one of the southeasts biggest special event party bands for quite a long haul. All good things come to an end, but it didn’t take long for Clint to become one of Montgomery’s most recognizable and sought after acoustic acts along side duo partner Kip Traylor. While together, the duo earned quite a few local accolades including what the Montgomery Advertiser coined, “Montgomery’ Best Kept Secret.” It didn’t stay a secret long because they were eventually named “Best Acoustic Act” by the same local entertainment paper too and the dynamic duo took on Montgomery’s Battle of the Bands as an acoustic act and won their spot to perform at, what was at the time, Montgomery’s premier music and arts festival, the Jubilee City Fest. Clint has played all across the southeast and one year played well over 150 shows. He was even honored to be the face of the local musician in “Montgomery’s Capital of Dreams” television advertising campaign. Along the way Clint managed to also release a string of original material, including a worship album that he used as a ministry tool to reach struggling people in need of hope. This eventually led to him to join The Extreme Tour where he traveled Canada and the Northeast U.S. with other like minded musicians sharing the love of God through music.
So you ask, what is Clint up to today? He is alive and well and still playing guitar! And although he may not be as visible on the public stage, he still performs at countless corporate parties and special events with clients including the Marshal County Legislative Leadership Council, Jackson Hospital, Auburn University Montgomery, Faulkner University, City of Montgomery, Capital City Club, Wynlakes Golf and Country Club, Hilton’s Home2 Suites and many more!
